Showing You the Ropes is an excellent beginner book for the knots used in rope bondage. Photos are black and white. It has an okay selection of practice ties, but the real gem is the step-by-step nature of how to do each tie. That is the primary reason for five stars. The other reason is what this book is actually meant for: beginners. The ties are inventive, but not enough for the true connoisseur of rope bondage. For this, if you can afford a little extra, the second book: Back on the Ropes, is an excellent companion book and it makes up the extra ties to seal the deal. Not a bad price, Amazon has the best around. Most I've spent on a new set of books in my life, but well worth each dollar.
