Buying The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 Book for Digital Photographers

No one likes Scott Kelby more than I do. I'm a Kelby Kool-Aid drinker from way back. I don't just *think* Scott is the best...I *know* he's the best. Unfortunately though, I get the feeling that he rushed his way through this book just a little bit...especially at the beginning. Almost as if he had someone else write the first few chapters, and then he took over for the rest of the book.

When I say the book feels "rushed"...I'm not saying there's not enough detail...I'm saying that much of the detail...especially in the early part of the book relating to how to bring in your images and get started with LightRoom is, well...confusing and less-than helpful. Could have used some thoughtful editing...and rethinking of how to start the book...how to write about setting up libraries and collections, etc.

I finally gave up and found some web-site resources that provided better explanations for getting started...then returned to the book... and then once he got into using the "Develop" and other modules, the book picked up speed, and from that point on it's vintage Scott Kelby...funny (as always)...goofy (of course)...and very helpful. I'm rating it at 4 stars, but if possible I would have said 3-1/2. Definitely not up to Scott's usual.Get more detail about The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 Book for Digital Photographers.
